  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ egg (from 1 egg, beaten)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • pinch of salt

let's make it

  1. 01

    preheat oven to 350°F

  2. 02

    add butter to a mini Dutch oven and cook over medium-low heat until melted, foamy + deeply golden. remove from heat and let cool slightly

  3. 03

    add egg, granulated sugar + vanilla to the browned butter and mix until combined

  4. 04

    add the cocoa powder, flour + salt and mix until just combined

  5. 05

    bake directly in the mini Dutch oven for ~12–15 minutes, until the edges are set but the center is still slightly soft

  6. 06

    enjoy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream straight from the Dutch oven
